Sandpoint City Beach


If you're looking for the easiest place to launch a paddleboard in Sandpoint, City Beach is a great place to start.


The public boat launch provides convenient water access, and you'll be on Lake Pend Oreille within minutes. Because it's located close to downtown, it's also one of the most accessible paddling locations in the area.


Keep in mind that boat traffic can create wake throughout the day, especially during peak summer months. Staying visible and wearing a life jacket is always a good idea.

The creek winds through town and offers a unique perspective of Sandpoint that most visitors never see.


Water levels can vary throughout the year, but during the main summer season, there is typically plenty of depth for paddleboarding.

Priest Lake


When people talk about some of the most beautiful water in North Idaho, Priest Lake is usually part of the conversation.


Located about 45 minutes from Sandpoint, Priest Lake offers several paddleboarding opportunities, including the scenic thoroughfare connecting the main lake and Upper Priest Lake.


The approximately 2.5-mile route is designated as a no-wake zone, making it enjoyable for both beginners and experienced paddlers.


With minimal development along the shoreline, it's one of the most peaceful paddles you'll find in the region.
